Thanks for Stopping By!
Welcome to my brand new website! I’m really excited to have a far more professional site to host all the documents I find & share for everyone. I appreciate you taking the time to check things out, I hope you’ve managed to find everything you were looking for, but if not, please don’t hesitate to drop me a message. You can reach out on LinkedIn or via email at contact@darkwingdynamics.co.uk.
What's to come?
Well, as you may have guessed, a lot more information sharing. I spend hours a day going through certain telegram channels collecting, filtering & translating data. On a personal level, If you've ever ventured over to that particular side of Telegram, you'll know how mentally taxing it is working through all the sensitive & shocking content some channels like to publish, I regularly find I need to step back and have a break from seeing it.
That aside, you'll also be seeing drones / UAV's / UAP's- or whatever you like to call them, haha. I've been a drone pilot for several years and absolutely love flying. I started off flying a Hobbyzone Subercub - which got me hooked on flight, from there I bought my first nitro which was a monoplane, it was my first experience of "range anxiety" because as soon as the fuel ran out, that thing dropped like a brick. Luckily the fields I flew in were only ever covered in sheep poo, and not people. After moving to London at 20, I didn't really fly (as you may know, London's air space is very restricted and you can't just throw a plane up in the air) So after a few years, I bought myself a DJI phantom 3A. That was it, I was hooked on drones. I mean I still love planes, I've got a Mini Talon in my room that I'm slowly working on- so watch out for that featuring in a project one day! Currently including the Mini Talon, I've got a DJI Mavic 3 thermal (mainly to help with research for my projects) A DJI Mini 3Pro- a great little powerhouse, a DJI Avata 2, a custom 5 inch fpv quad and a Mobula 7 TinyWhoop- If you're into tinywhoops, I highly recommend watching a couple of videos from "FPVegan" on YouTube. While I don't condone it, he published an incredible video of his 85mm TinyWhoop diving the Empire State building. - Blew my mind!
Lastly, I'm also into "Drone Detection" rather than the multimillion pound systems you see on military videos, I'm far more interested how to make you own- such as from the TinySA Ultra or hackRF. Being an amateur radio licence holder, I've always found radio waves somewhat interesting. I first went down the radio rabbit hole when I learned about radio direction finding. I was eager to understand more about this as I had/have an expensive motorbike, which motorbike thieves like to target. I was always concerned about GPS trackers either failing or being blocked by organised crime groups using jammers, so I installed my own radio beacons in my bike. This way I could use a handheld radio to transmit a special 'tone' which the beacon listen for. Once It heard it, It would play through a list of audio harmonic tones and then transmit it's GPS coordinates. - This is where the direction finding aspect came into it. Using a Yagi antenna connected to the radio, it was possible to listen and see where the strongest signal was coming from, after taking a few bearings and plotting them on a map, you'd be able to successfully triangulate the bike/beacons location. - I could go on, but I'll spare you paragraphs!
